Char Dham Yatra has immense religious significance in Hindu culture. The term itself represents the four most religious Hindu pilgrimage destinations encompassing: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath.

People from all over the world brave severe weather conditions adding a touch of adventure to this religious journey. It gives you a chance to take a dip in the rich Indian culture and experience the serenity of Himalayas for spiritual satisfaction.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Delhi - Rishikesh 232km; (Drive 5 - 6 hrs)
Pick up at Delhi and drive to Rishikesh by road / train ( as per preference ). On arrival in Rishikesh. Check in at a hotel. Evening is free for a visit to the Swargashram and for attending the evening "Arti" (worship the river) on the banks of the holy Ganga.

Day 2: Rishikesh - Barkot 220km; ( Drive 7 - 8 hrs)
Depart from Rishikesh early in the morning and take lunch en route to Mussoorie. Resume your journey and reach Barkot in the evening after visiting Kempty Falls on the way. On arrival check in at a hotel/camp at Barkot for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Barkot - Yamunotri - Barkot. (Drive 32km; trek 14km round)
After an early breakfast, leave for Hanuman Chatti (Drive 32km) to resume your journey. Alternately, take a local jeep to reach Phool Chatti to shorten your trek by 5km. On arrival start your day with a tough trek of 7 to 12km. Arrive at Yamunotri and after a Darshan at the temple take a holy "Achman" to start your most sacred pilgrimage of Char Dhams. Come back to Phool Chatti in the evening to return to camp/hotel for dinner and relaxation.

Day 4: Barkot - Harsil ( Drive 152km; 6 - 7 hrs )
After a relaxed breakfast leave for Harsil a drive of 152km. En route stop at Uttarkashi for lunch. On the way stop at Gangnani for a hot sulphur water spring dip. Resume to reach Harsil, one of the most beautiful valleys in the world and reach the camp/hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Harsil - Gangotri - Harsil ( Drive 22km one way)
After breakfast leave for Gangotri and on arrival take a holy dip in the sacred river Ganga, also called Bhagirathi at its origin. After performing "Pooja" and relaxation in the lovely surroundings return to the camp/hotel in the afternoon to relax in the bright sunshine and to soak in some of the breathtaking views of the valley. Dinner and overnight stay at camp/hotel.

Day 6: Harsil - Guptakashi 283km ( Drive 9 - 10 hrs)
After a very early breakfast leave for the longest journey of the trip on the road. Late lunch en route at Srinagar. On the way, see the heritage city of Tehri going down to the mighty waters of Holy river Ganga because of the construction of Tehri Dam. After lunch restart your journey and meet the beautiful river Mandakini. Travel along this river to reach Guptakashi late in the evening. On arrival check in at the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Guptakashi - Kedarnath. ( Drive 32km; trek 14km )
After breakfast leave for Gaurikund (a 32km drive one way). On arrival, start your journey on the tough trek ahead. Stop for lunch en route and restart ,to arrive by late afternoon at Kedarnath. On arrival check into a hotel/dharamshala. After freshening up perform "Pooja" and "Darshan" at the Shri Kedarnathji shrine. In the evening also visit Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi in the vicinity of the temple. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel/dharamshala.

Day 8: Kedarnath - Guptakashi. ( Trek 14km; drive 32km )
After breakfast start your journey back to Gaurikund and take a relaxing bath in the hot water sulphur springs. After this drive down to Guptakashi by road to reach the camp/hotel by evening. Dinner and overnight stay at Guptakashi.

Day 9: Guptakashi - Joshimath via Chopta 175km; ( 6 - 7 hrs )
After breakfast leave for Joshimath via Chopta, one of the most beautiful sites in the whole trip. Enjoy the beautiful drive through the thick forests filled with medicinal plants and stop at Pipalkoti for lunch. Arrive at the hotel/camp at Joshimath by late afternoon. Evening free in Joshimath. Dinner and overnight stay at Joshimath.

Day 10: Joshimath - Badrinath - Joshimath ( Drive 90km )
After breakfast leave for Shri Badrinathji.,on arrival perform the holy "Darshan" and leave for an excursion to the village, the last village on the Tibet border. Come back to Joshimath for dinner and overnight stay at the hotel/ashram.

Day 11: Joshimath - Rishikesh 252km ( Drive 9 - 10 hrs)
After breakfast leave for Rishikesh and en route take lunch at Srinagar. Restart and if time permits spend time at Devprayag - the confluence of rivers Alaknanda and Bhagirathi, which forms the Ganga. Reach Rishikesh in the evening to check in at a hotel. Spend the evening in exploring the traditions and cultures of India on the banks of the holy river Ganga. Visit the Swargashram, the Ram and Lakshman Jhoolas, the Gita Bhavan and attend the evening "Arti" on the banks of the Ganga. Overnight stay at Rishikesh.

Day 12: Rishikesh - Delhi
After breakfast leave for Delhi. Tour ends on arrival in Delhi.
